Abstract |
In this paper, a digital controller is developed to perform voltage balancing of the supercapacitor cells. The bidirectional flyback converter which has a simple structure and is frequently used in charging and discharging circuits is used to charge and discharge the supercapacitor cells. The balancing circuit with the controller constructed in this paper uses the capacitor placed on the rectifier circuit of the input ac source to exchange energies among supercapacitor cells instead of auxiliary capacitors or batteries which are usually used in active shuttling battery cell balancing circuits. The validity of the controller developed for the supercapacitor voltage balancing is shown through experimental results |
